Nut porridge

You'll go nuts for this tasty porridge alternative! If you love a hot bowl of porridge but can't eat too many grains, this recipe is a great alternative. It's only got a few ingredients and is easy to make with a quick whizz up in a blender. This receipt will make about three portions which I then eat over the new few days. It will go a bit browner because of the banana but it tastes fine.



Ingredients

1/2 cup of pecans

1/2 cup of walnuts

1/2 cup of almonds

2 cups of almond milk / oat milk / cow's milk

1 banana


Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a food blender and pulse to your preferred texture. I prefer to keep the nuts a little bit chunky but you can make the mixture completely smooth.

  2. To cook on the hob, place the mixture in a pan and warm through until the mixture has thickened. To cook in the microwave, put in a bowl and microwave on high until the mixture is warm and has thickened.

  3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and add fruit if desired.
